OUR GOAL

Wastewater will pollute surface and underground freshwater sources if released to the environment, cause disease and even death. As laudable as it can be, treating wastewater should not be the end goal. Recovering all its resources is.

Municipal and residential wastewater is typically composed of over 99.9% pure water. In industrial effluents, the percentage of pure water ranges from the high 80s to the high 90s. The need for water is greater now than it has ever been in the history of humanity. With our technology, we can recover water for many reuses where previously freshwater was consumed.

The second component contained in wastewater is organic matter. That is, long carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen chains. When decomposed anaerobically, those carbons can be unfolded to produce methane-rich biogas. With low-load municipal effluents, the energy recovered is usually enough to fuel the whole process. With high load, industrial effluents, Energy produced-to-used ratios can be up to 10 to 1.

The last component that can be recovered is a nutrient-rich substrate. Phosphorous and potassium typically settle with the sludge that, when fully digested and properly pasteurized, is beneficial for gardening and agricultural uses. Adding some stages in the process, we can also recover nitrogen for the same benefits.

Leaving wastewater untreated produces large amounts of GHG and has an enormous carbon footprint. On the other hand, making quality water, energy, and nutrients with traditional methods also have a carbon burden on their own. Our holistic approach to treating wastewater while using its organic content for recovering water, energy, and nutrients from it is the epitome of sustainability, not only environmentally but also financially.

ABOUT US

AmphiBio Technologies is a socially committed company whose mission is to improve people’s lives by creating innovative solutions for the efficient use, treatment, and recovery of water, energy, and other resources for their reuse. We invented the most efficient and compact biological process in the world for treating wastewater while recovering high-quality effluent, clean energy, and reusable nutrients.

OUR CURRENT TECHNOLOGY: MMBR

The Multi-Media Bio Reactors (MMBRs) and its unique characteristics, such as the quantity of packed biomass coupled with their optimal contact factors and operating conditions make them the most efficient biological system that exists to digest organic load, taking advantage of biogas and recovering nutrients. These plants have the ability to be energy neutral or even energy producing even with low load influents such as municipal wastewater.

We serve the following markets: domestic waste, food industries, and other industries.
