Amphibio Technologies has developed the Amphibio Combined BioReactor, Amphibio Mega BioContactor, and Amphibio DAPS Clarifier, unique and patented technologies that allow us to offer the most efficient and innovative wastewater treatment process to produce GREAT water quality, with very low use of energy, minimizing operation costs, and in the most environmentally friendly way.

  • The AmphiBio Combined BioReactor is a patented, advanced Primary Sedimentation Tank (PST) which integrates anaerobic, anoxic and aerobic processes for both sludge and water in a single carefully stratified reactor.
  • The AmphiBio Mega BioContactor is a patented, structurally reinforced and continuous-duty, fixed-film Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) that offers up to 2.6 times the media area than any other one in the world.
  • The Deep-bed, Automatic, Piston-type, Static clarifier (DAPS) is a self-adjusting, compact equipment that with a minimal energy use, and no rakes or moving parts ,delivers superior results in solids separation and water quality.

GREAT WATER QUALITY
  • REMOVAL OF BOD AND TSS* GREATER THAN 95%

    Even with our base system, effluents are lower than 20 mg/L and usually lower than 10 mg/L, levels below the typical ones established by international regulation agencies.

  • REUSE OR REMOVAL OF NUTRIENTS

    Nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) can be preserved to some degree for irrigation applications or removed to the desired level.

  • STANDARD SECONDARY PLUS DISINFECTION SYSTEMS

    Are suitable for reuses in restricted irrigation of green areas, simple non-edible, industrial and fodder crops, fruit trees, private parks and clubs, cooling systems and other simple industrial applications

  • BASE PLUS TERTIARY TREATMENT SYSTEMS

    Such as one or more advanced media, membrane, or oxidation process and/or disinfection systems can produce water suitable for even the most stringent reuses such as unrestricted irrigation of all crops for direct human consumption, including those eaten raw (for example leaf vegetables, berries, cabbages, etc.), public parks and fields, recreational reservoirs, and even for water augmentation for indirect potable use.**

    **Local legislation varies in criteria and might require to comply with mandatory tertiary treatment processes such as media and membrane filtration plus advanced oxidation/disinfection.

  • MORE EFFICIENT PROCESS

    Thanks to the combination of anaerobic and anoxic processes that do not require mechanical equipment or supplemental energy, and our high efficiency aerobic RBC system we have what we believe it to be the most energy efficient mechanized process for high quality effluents in the world.

  • SOLAR ENERGY GENERATION

    When possible, our plants are built with an orientation in which the roofs can get maximum sunlight exposure so they can be upgraded with solar panels and generate up to 50% of the energy they consume

  • SELF-SUSTAINING WWTP

    In plants larger than 10 to 15 MGD12 , our process can be adjusted with a separate sludge digestion, a methane production process that can be used to generate electricity as well as heat, both of which can be used to make the overall process more efficient, and even self-sufficient energy wise.

  • LOW SLUDGE PRODUCTION

    In our standard process, months of solids retention allow sludge to be fully digested where only a very small volume of inert solids are leftover for removal, which has to be done every 3, 6, or more months13, minimizing costs of its extraction and disposal.

  • CHEMICAL FREE

    We favor chemical free processes where main disinfection is through the use of UV light or ozone systems vs chlorination to avoid the generation of carcinogenic by-products such as Trihalomethanes (THMs) while also simplifying its operation and considerably reducing costs.

  • EASY TO OPERATE

    Our WWTPs are offered in semi or fully automatic versions with remote telemetry and control, with management by exception dashboards, minimizing labor costs. On single rotor systems typically 4 man-hours per week are enough for inspection and preventive maintenance.

  • SMALLER PHYSICAL FOOTPRINT

    We typically use less than 20% of the area of conventional processes. Our efficient use of space leads to big savings in the initial land investment and also in the modular plant expansions when they are planned for from the beginning.

  • ODOR & NOISE-LESS

    Our fixed film process (which also acts as an air biofilter), recirculation strategy, and high dissolved oxygen top water layer allow our plants not to produce septic odors or aerosols even inside the plant. Furthermore, there are no compressors or aerators in our process, so no noise is generated by them. This eliminates the need and costs of the buffer zone required by other processes.

  • SMALLEST CARBON FOOTPRINT

    Thanks to our highly energy-efficient process and to our supplemental renewable energy our plants can run with little to no energy from the grid, avoiding the production of carbon emissions associated with its generation.

  • GREAT APPEARANCE

    All of our plants can be built into an aesthetically pleasant facade which can be customized to blend in with its surroundings.
